AI setup
VX can connect AI assistants, such as Claude, Cursor, VS Code or Codex, to your WordPress site using the Model Context Protocol (MCP). A connected assistant can read your data model and content, answer questions about the site, and, if you allow it, make changes: add fields, create post types, update values across many posts, or build a template.
Every action an assistant can take is an ability: a named operation with defined inputs and a permission check, such as "list fieldsets" or "set a post's field values". You choose which abilities the assistant gets. The connection is off until you turn it on, starts read-only, and every change it makes is recorded with a way to undo it.
It's under VX → AI. It needs WordPress 6.9 or later.
- Enabling MCP: turn it on and choose what to expose.
- Connecting MCP clients: set up your assistant.
