Taxonomies

A taxonomy is a shared list of terms that entries can belong to. Categories and Tags are built in; a bookshop might add a Genre taxonomy so every book belongs to Fiction, Mystery or Science fiction. VX → Taxonomies lets you create taxonomies and manage the settings of ones WordPress or other plugins registered.

Two things are easy to mix up:

• Fields on terms (a description image for each style, say) come from a fieldset with a Taxonomy location.
• Putting entries into terms is done with the post editor's own taxonomy panel, or with a Taxonomy field if you want the picker inside your fieldset.
