List

List stores several short pieces of text: the languages a book is available in ("English", "French", "Spanish"), a set of keywords, the awards a writer has won. Editors add, remove and drag items into order.

  • Minimum items and Maximum items limit how many items there can be. Empty rows don't count.
  • Minimum item length and Maximum item length apply to each item.
  • Allow duplicate items is off by default, so repeated items are removed when the entry is saved.
  • Default items pre-fill new entries.

A List holds plain text only. If each item needs more than one value, such as a name and a URL, use a Repeater. If the items come from a fixed set, use Checkboxes so every entry spells them the same way.
