Field Table

Pro

A Field Table is a grid: you define the Columns, and editors add rows. It suits compact, uniform data that's easiest to edit side by side, like a price list (size, price, stock) or technical specifications (attribute, value, unit).

Each column is a real field type with its own settings and validation. Columns can be text, number, email, password, URL, phone, color, list, slider or range slider; any choice field; any date field except Recurring Date; any media field; or Taxonomy, Select Post and Select User. Containers can't be columns.

Minimum rows and Maximum rows limit the number of rows.

It stores the same kind of data as a Repeater, so templates read it the same way. Choose a Field Table when editors benefit from seeing all rows at once, and a Repeater when rows have many or tall fields.

Technical details for LLMs

  • A Clone inside a table must use display: group (seamless isn't supported there).
  • Stored and REST: same as repeater: an array of row objects.
